Justice League First Image Darkseid From Snyder Cut official

Zack Snyder shares an official full color image of Darkseid from Justice League's Snyder Cut.

The first official image of Darkseid from Justice League's Snyder Cut is officially released online. Last week, it was officially confirmed the Snyder Cut would premiere on HBO Max in 2021, marking the ultimate victory of the 

#ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement that passionately campaigned for Snyder's version of Justice League for roughly 2.5 years. As most people know, Justice League's theatrical cut is a far cry from Snyder's original vision for the film, with reshoots completely changing the narrative. There's a reason why Snyder described the Snyder Cut as "an entirely new thing."

One of the many main differences between the Snyder Cut and Justice League's theatrical cut is Darkseid. Though he was teased in Batman V Superman, the powerful villain was nowhere to be seen in Justice League, with Steppenwolf taking his place. Darkseid was supposed to appear in Justice League's history lesson sequence and other scenes, with actor Ray Porter shooting everything needed during principal photography. With the Snyder Cut now green lit, fans will finally get a chance to see Darkseid onscreen, and Snyder is celebrating the occasion.

On Twitter, Snyder shared an official image of Darkseid from the Snyder Cut. It's worth mentioning Snyder previously shared a black-and-white version of this photo on Vero, but now it's been revealed in full color. It shows a younger Darkseid, who was still going by the name Uxas at the time. Check it out in the space below:

However, even though the Snyder Cut is happening, Snyder is going to have to revise his original plan for the full DCEU franchise. At one point, the director had a five-movie arc in mind, with Justice League 2 part of the slate. It's been said the Snyder Cut won't get a sequel or change the DCEU's trajectory going forward, meaning it's likely this version of Darkseid will be one-and-done. Hopefully, whatever Snyder comes up with delivers on the character's potential and makes the most of this opportunity.
